    Pom Pom Bookmarks

This pom pom bookmark craft is perfect right now for Back-to-School. It's a great craft to do in the classroom to inspire reading. It's quick and easy and would make a great little personal touch to go along with a book that you are giving as a gift.

There are several pom pom makers out there. The ones that I have been using are the Clover brand, which I have linked to below on Amazon. However, I just decided to purchase the Pom Maker brand. I always see her tutorials on YouTube and her pins on Pinterest and really wanted to support her company because I love what she is doing right now. Please check her out https://blog.pommaker.com/ and I will definitely report back about how her product compares to the Clover pom pom maker.

For this craft, I decided to make three different colors of bookmarks. I used jumbo green paperclips to make the bookmarks look a little like flowers with stems, but you can use whatever color combos you wish.

    Steps:

Wrap your yarn around one side of the pom pom maker. Trim the yarn and close the first side of the pom pom maker. Then repeat this on the other side. Take your scissors and trim in between the two sides of the pom pom maker. There is a space for your scissors to fit.

I apologize, I did not take a photo of how to tie the pom pom, so I will include a photo of me tying my flower pom pom instead. This is before I discovered waxed thread which works 10x better than using the yarn, but you get the idea. 🙂

For this craft, do not trim the thread yet. We will need it to tie our pom pom to the paper clip. Open up the pom pom maker, shake out the pom pom and start trimming any pieces of yarn that are sticking out at all. Do this all around the pom pom several times. Then tie the pom poms to the paper clips, trim threads and your done! Super cute and easy, right?!
